About Us

Megan Amato

Urban fantasy writer, freelance fiction editor and tea connoisseur.

I started writing my first novel when I was seventeen and had run out of urban fantasy to read at the library. I have written several unpublished books since then, refined my craft and have even started freelance editing for aspiring novelists. I am currently writing an urban fantasy based in Edinburgh that I am very proud of. As a pan writer with mental health issues, I love all things fantasy, but especially when they intersect with people’s different identities. Outside of writing and editing, I love to take walks in nature and spend time with my bunny.

Sheila Arellano

Latinx fantasy writer, editor and professional nerd.

Storytelling has been my companion and guide in life. Writing has led me to my true self and has helped me heal many wounds. Throughout my career, I have written three books and published poetry and short fiction in a literary magazine. My MG novel was published in 2016. Currently, I am querying my YA fantasy manuscript and writing my fourth book. I love weaving my Mexican heritage and culture into my stories. I also enjoy creating communities of storytellers and helping people achieve their dreams. In my spare time, you’ll find me researching Latinx mythology, drawing D&D characters and playing ukulele.

Mariah Prouse

Night owl fantasy writer, bibliophile and crafty momma.

For years I had spent time writing; hidden behind closed doors and late nights. A night owl writer through and through. Then reality clicked, and I realized I wanted to write for more than just a hobby. From there, I started to research and find my writing people. Currently, I am in the query trenches on my first completed YA Fantasy manuscript, finished the early drafts of an Adult Fantasy duology and working on the first draft of a MG Fantasy on behalf of my son. When I am not writing, I craft and spread the book love to my children, work full-time, and am a fire wife.

Lindsay Fortin

Fantasy writer, hopeful scholar, and dreamer of better worlds.

As a child, I used to dream up stories and imaginary worlds, and I would write them down with a feverish intensity. As a teen, I continued writing, but more casually. When I was 19, though, I realized that I wanted to write seriously — maybe even as a career. I found myself wanting to read books that hadn’t been written yet, and I wanted to be the one to write them. Since then, I’ve been learning about the craft, and doing whatever I can to improve my writing. As a neurodivergent lesbian who struggles with mental health, I’m incredibly passionate about writing complex characters, with a particular focus on sapphic women and girls. If I’m not writing, I’m most likely studying. I’m currently doing my undergraduate degree in Classics, and I hope to go on to do graduate studies in Egyptology and pursue a career in academia.
